FORMER workmates of a Hampshire man who died of an asbestos-related illness are being urged to come forward.

Brian Tiley of Eastleigh worked at the local British Rail works as a Coppersmith and then at Vosper Thorneycroft in Southampton amongst other firms from the 1950’s onwards.

Mr Tiley then worked for many other companies in the 60s and 70s as a labourer.

Mr Tiley, was diagnosed with asbestosis and died of the condition in October 2015, aged 79 years old.

His family need former work colleagues to confirm his exposure to asbestos. They are needed as witnesses to support the claim for compensation for contracting this industrial disease.

Mr Tiley was originally from the Dundee area and moved during his childhood to Eastleigh.

He went on to work for many local companies in the 1960’s and 1970’s before finishing his working life with Hampshire County Council in 1985.

The family solicitor Charlie Bradley of York based Corries Solicitors, said Mr Tiley’s illness was believed to be as a result of asbestos exposure with many companies in the Eastleigh and Southampton areas.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Charlie Bradley on (01904) 527473 or by email at CXB@corries.co.uk.
