SPARSHOLT College will be showcasing the industry expertise of its lecturers, at a special open afternoon.

The event on April 26, from 4-7pm, gives parents a chance to find out more about its courses.

Lecturers such as Paul Rose from Animal Management are part of the teaching staff at Sparsholt. During his career, he has worked with Sir David Attenborough and won a Gold research award from BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) for his PhD behavioural research on flamingos at WWT (Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust), all whilst teaching degree students at University Centre Sparsholt.

Dr Rose said: “As lecturers, we instil a great amount of knowledge, determination and passion in all of our students.

“By encouraging them to balance their time between studying hard and volunteering for multiple work placements through Sparsholt’s vast network of contacts, we ensure our students have a combination of specialist and transferable skills.”

“This means that when our learners complete their courses, they’re able to quickly enter into the career of their dreams.”

Principal of Sparsholt College, Tim Jackson added: “Our team of lecturers have an unrivalled level of academic knowledge to pass on to students.”; they also have the industry experience and contacts to give students access to one-of-a-kind work placements in top establishments across the country.

“These links are vital to developing strong portfolios of work to increase student employability and the likelihood of developing strong, fulfilling careers that last for many years.”

It runs from 4pm to 7pm.
