The attack happened just before 2.30am on August 25, 2019, at the store on Willow Way, Upper Hale, near Farnham.

The footage was shown to jurors today as the man said to be responsible for the conspiracy to blow up 14 machines across the three counties goes on trial.

Mr Hughes, of Street End Close, Rotherwick, denies conspiracy to cause an explosion, conspiracy to burgle, and two counts of conspiracy to steal.

Prosecutor Mark Ruffell explained to jurors today how the police say criminals do it.

"One person would make a hole in the top of an ATM through the opening where the cash is normally ejected, using a crowbar.

"A hose which is attached to an oxyacetylene gas bottle is inserted into the hole and the gas is turned on.

"It would appear that the offenders would then time how long the gas was inserted into the hole.

"The hose would then be withdrawn, and then petrol would be poured over the cash point and along the floor or pavement outside. The conspirators would move away and then light the petrol.

"The flame would travel quickly along the petrol and ignite the gas and boom, the sides of the cash point would blow off.

"At that point the thieves had to work fast. They had to go back to the cash point and remove the cash and then leave the scene.

"Alarms would be going off, and people would be ringing the Police. But this could all be done in a minute or so."

The trial continues. Mr Hughes denies all charges.
