A DISQUALIFIED driver who ignored court orders has been jailed for four months.

Joe William Hill, 37, of Devon Close, Chandler's Ford, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa when stopped by officers on the A34 at Tufton near Bullington Cross on Monday June 7, a court heard.

As well as driving whilst disqualified he was driving with no insurance and offending during a suspended prison sentence that had been imposed for two counts of driving whilst disqualified in January 2020, on Winn Road, Southampton, and Magpie Lane, Eastleigh.

Hill admitted the charges.

Jailing him for 16 weeks, the magistrates in Basingstoke said he had shown a "flagrant disregard for court orders", aggravated by his record of offending.

Hill was also banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge. There was not order for costs because he was jailed and has no means to pay.

He was also convicted of four offences in breaching a restraining order to contact a Ria Gradwell, including on Whatsapp and following her on Strava.
Hill had denied the charges but was convicted after a trial. He was jailed for six weeks to run concurrently with the other sentence.
A restraining order was imposed to run until June 7 2023.
