A HAMPSHIRE man has been banned from driving after admitting being nearly double the drink-drive limit.
Matthew Smith, 18, from Eastleigh, pleaded guilty to driving along Otterbourne Road, Winchester, on October 20 while over the legal limit.
Smith was found to have 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The limit is 35.
Basingstoke magistrates fined Smith £180 and ordered him to pay £85 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Smith was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 17 months.
