A PAIR of Olympic sailing hopefuls have enlisted the support of a Hampshire business in their bid for the 2024 games.

Megan Brickwood and Steph Orton – known as ‘Meg n Steph’ – have entered into a sponsorship partnership with yacht repair and refit company Osmotech.

Meg n Steph sail on a 49er FX which is described as the ‘Formula 1’ vehicle of sailing and are hoping to compete at the Paris games.

James Coker, sales director at Osmotech, based at Hamble Point Marina, said: “It’s such a privilege to support local talent. Working within the boating industry I know it takes a lot of commitment to achieve what Meg and Steph have so far in a sport which doesn’t have as much exposure such as football or rugby. Sailing has become more recognised in recent years so we are proud to support Meg and Steph on their journey to win the Olympics.”

Team member Megan Brickwood, from Hamble and a graduate of Southampton University, said: “We are super excited to have Osmotech join our Olympic Campaign towards 2024.

“It is even more special to us, having a local company support us and the shared passion to sailing and being on the water.

“We are committed to training hard and achieving our goals of winning an Olympic gold medal, but in that pursuit would love to give back as much as we can to our incredible supporters.

“We are very fortunate to be in Lanzarote training with all the international top teams and working towards our Europeans in May and World Championships in November in Oman. Like many people, we have been kept on our toes with plans chopping and changing, but we are doing our best to stay positive and enjoy every day out on the water training.”
