These six takeaways, and shops in Basingstoke have been given one of the worst possible food hygiene ratings in recent inspections by the Food Standards Agency.

The establishments, in Basingstoke received a rating of just 'one' in inspections carried out between March 2019 and July this year.

This means bosses of the food businesses need to make major improvements in order to comply with government standards for food safety and hygiene.

The ratings provide a basic picture of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection, with all six establishments needing to improve in at least one category, the majority falling short in food safety management.

It is the responsibility of the business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.

The food hygiene rating scheme does not provide information on the quality of the food, customer service, culinary skill, presentation or comfort.
