The Daily Echo today launches an initiative which will give businesses in Hampshire a boost as part of its “We’re With You Campaign”.

In the current extremely challenging and unprecedented time, the publisher of the Daily Echo, Hampshire Chronicle, Romsey Advertiser, Basingstoke Gazette and Andover Advertiser is giving businesses the chance to reach their customers with a free advert.

Gordon Sutter, Editor, said: “Having a voice during lockdown is still important to many businesses and our aim is to help them spread their shop local message to as many customers as possible.

Gordon added: “The Daily Echo has already pledged to do our best to support all those who need our help during these unparalleled times, and we all depend on our businesses for so many things.

"They are the source of a thriving local economy, our food, our services, and our jobs.

“Shopping local has never been so important as it is now.

“It is no secret our local traders are facing a difficult time and as a champion of our communities, Newsquest – the owners of the five titles - wants to help in any way it can.

“In all of our titles we will be featuring the efforts of local businesses which have been going the extra mile to support their customers.

“If you have any examples of a business going above and beyond please get in touch.”

The campaign will be officially launched in tomorrow’s newspaper with continuous coverage across our print products and websites.

Laura Bielinski, Newsquest Hampshire Advertising Director, said: “To help support businesses during these uncertain times, this campaign will provide a marketing message to our significant local audience completely free of charge.

"As a media brand, we will raise awareness around the need to support the local economy and promote how businesses are diversifying to keep afloat.

“Any business which wants to be featured in our launch campaign should get in touch and we will be more than happy to provide a free standard sized advert for any business which trades in any area of our Hampshire titles.”
