KEEPING fit and exercising has been proven to improve self-confidence and mental health.

To coincide with Small Business Saturday, on December 2, Espokes, in Stroudley Road, Lychpit are welcoming people to come and enjoy a trial three-mile ride.

Espokes is Basingstoke’s only specialist electric bike sales, service and test riding centre, as well as the only Bosch accredited Ebike experts in the area.

The benefit of an Ebike for a rider is that it saves money, gives people independence and it gives a good form of exercise for everyone including the super fit and those needing to rehabilitate.

Partner of Espokes Laura Jones said: “We all lead such busy lives now, and are turning to online purchases even more, but even so, I believe we should be trying to support local small businesses – even if that is online.

“Buying from a small local business is helping put money back into the community, helping that small business grow and create more jobs for the local community.”

During the Small Business Saturday event, people will be able to get more information about the benefits of an Ebike,

In a bid to bring the community together for Small Business Saturday, Espokes is offering visitors the chance to test ride an electric bike on a three-mile ride starting at their showroom on Stroudley Road and ending back there where you can reward yourself with a mince pie and hot drink.

Research has shown that cycling has a positive effect on people’s emotional health and helps with improving levels of wellbeing, self-confidence and tolerance to stress while reducing tiredness, difficulties with sleep and a whole range of medical symptoms.
