NAVAL enthusiasts in Droxford can learn how a local First World War hero turned the tide against the Germans at a talk next month.
Kit Power will explore how Vice Admiral Sir Frederick Sturdee turned a navy defeat at Coronel into a Falklands victory in the war’s early sea battles, annihilating German warships.
The talk, at Droxford Village Hall on Thursday, April 16, will be followed by a 1927 film of the conflicts.
Doors open for drinks at 6pm ahead of the talk at 6.30pm.
Tickets can be bought for £10 at Droxford Post Office or by calling Michael Profit on 01489 877452.
