Alresford civic chiefs praise town volunteer for recent award
CIVIC chiefs in Alresford have congratulated a popular member of the community who won a Mayor’s Award.
Maureen Mayers was rewarded in the 2012 Mayor’s Award for her work running the Alresford Lunch Club and other community services.
City councillor Simon Cook recommended Mrs Mayers for the award and said he was very pleased she was rewarded for her service to the community.
New Alresford Town Trust chairman Robin Atkins added: “Maureen Mayers does a lot of work on the community minibus and we are very grateful for her in that respect.”
