BUDDING artists at Perins School in Alresford have reason to celebrate after creating a new mosaic for their courtyard.
Visiting artist Lynne Waylen worked with gifted and talented students to design and produce the clay work which now takes pride of place near the entrance to the school hall.
Once the design was drawn, all pieces of clay were cut to the exact size using templates. The clay work was then fired and painted with glazes before being fired again to set the glazes.
The project was partly funded by the Alresford Decorative and Fine Arts Society who donated £500 and worked alongside some of the students.
Miss Billington, head of art, said: “This has been a fantastic project. The work is lovely and will no doubt be there for many years to come.”
