CHERITON Volunteer Group will be holding a public meeting to discuss the best ways of tackling flooding and conservation issues in the village.
Since forming earlier this year the group has been active, clearing storm damage in Dark Lane, removing trees from the river along Alresford Road and cutting back hedging between the school and Alresford Road.
Most recently it has been weed clearing between Alresford Road and Hinton Marsh, with the resulting freer-flowing stream attracting trout and water voles.
The group’s Barry Frampton can be contacted on 01962 771288 or by email on bandbforestry@btinternet.com.
