GRADUATES from the University of Winchester gathered at the city's cathedral this week to celebrate their degree successes.
Hundreds of students young and old assumed their traditional robes at Winchester Guildhall yesterday (Wednesday).
They then headed to the cathedral's West Front ahead of their graduation ceremony inside the Norman landmark.
In the warm sunshine, the students, joined by their families, friends, and tutors, exchanged hugs, handshakes and took some pictures for posterity.
Among those graduating was 23-year-old Michael Alport, who studied for a BA in business management. He now works as an accountant for finance firm, Tenon, in Chandler's Ford, where he lives.
"The weather seems to have held out and to be graduating in the cathedral is a pretty good thing."
He added that the ceremony had given the students one more opportunity to meet up and exchange stories.
The University of Winchester graduation ceremonies are scheduled to continue today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday).
