Big hair is back at a Hampshire school.
In preparation for next month’s production of the hit musical Hairspray, students at The Romsey School have received a masterclass in back-combing and beehives from hairdresser Paul Light and his team of stylists.
The show, based on the 1988 film, is set in 1960s Baltimore where the girls wore their locks lacquered into high-rise styles.
Paul and his staff will return for each night of the show, which runs from February 1-3, to help the school’s own backstage hair and makeup team. The show’s programme will include a voucher to use at his salon in The Hundred.
Hairspray has nearly sold out for the last night but tickets are still available from the school box office for Wednesday and Thursday. They are priced £4 for students/OAPs and £6 for adults.
