Top American and Canadian acts will be coming to The Railway in Winchester this Autumn.

The gigs are being brought to the city by SXSC, run by music writer Oliver Gray, who is based in Twyford, and Richard Williams.

The season starts on Friday September 15 with Los Angeles-based Stewboss.

With hints of the Rolling Stones, Tom Pretty, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen, singer Greg Sarfaty straddles the lines between love and hate with his sad tones and root-rock songs for a "whisky-swilling Saturday night".

With support from Southampton-based Blue Book Park it should make for a good night.

The rest of the season looks like this: Tuesday October 3, from Boston, Eileen Rose, supported by Darren Black and Gracie, tickets £7; Tuesday October 10, from Raleigh, Patty Hurst Shifter, with the Good Time Charlies, tickets £7; Saturday October 28, from Devon, Peter Bruntnell Band and Rachelle van Zanten, tickets £7 and on Sunday November 19, from Austin, The Resentments, tickets £10.
