The Tower Arts Centre are tapping into the summer festival vibe this weekend.
The venue, in association with The Railway Inn and Winfest, presents the first ever Summersound on Saturday, July 22, from 12 noon 8pm.
Packing a total of 15 bands into eight hours, the event will be like a mini beach party in The Tower car park with loads of music from local bands.
The line up includes finalists from the 2006 Winchester Tower Battle of the Bands, held at the Guildhall in February. They are Renaissance Child, The Ashbys (formerly FourPlay), Three Kings, Sweet Chaos and Afrosnatchers.
Joining them will be Citizen, The Moho, Tom Moody and F.P Aces, as well as Winchester favourites Gracie, Stem Project, Hip Hop Farmers, Volume, Scarlet Soho and The Bullycats.
Tickets cost £2.50 in advance and £5 (£3.50 concessions), on the gate and are available from www.towerarts.co.uk and The Tower Box office on 01962 867986.
