PLANNERS have given the green light for building in the garden of an 18th century property near Winchester.
They have approved a scheme to put two homes in the grounds of Cobbles Cottage in Sutton Scotney.
The three- and two-bedroom dwellings will be accessed through Sutton Park Road, a recently completed housing development.
Wonston Parish Council had objected to the plans, saying access to the site was restricted. Winchester City Council also received 14 letters, which all spoke against the proposals.
Large schemes – involving the construction of four homes – were dismissed in 2005 and 2007
