A show celebrating comedy legends Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise is set to entertain audiences.

An Evening of Eric & Ern will be staged at the Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday, November 11, and Thursday, November 12.

The performance, which is recommended for ages eight and over, will feature renditions of the duo's popular sketches, including Greig's Piano Concerto and Mr Memory Arsenal, along with various routines and songs.

A special musical guest is also expected to make an appearance.

The show marks the centenary years of the comedy double act, with Ernie Wise who would have celebrated his 100th birthday last November and Eric Morecambe in May this year.

The show is performed by Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens, an Olivier-nominated duo behind the West End hit Eric & Little Ern.

The pair first met at drama school in the 1980s, and later reunited to perform a five-minute sketch as Eric and Ernie.

An Evening of Eric & Ern promises to deliver "laughs aplenty" and evoke memories of times when whole families would sit around the telly to tune into the double act’s famous Christmas specials.

The performances will take place at 6.30pm on Wednesday, and at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Thursday.
