A community library is helping to build connections and support in the heart of the village.

North Baddesley Community Library, based at All Saints Church, recently welcomed a visit from Test Valley Borough Councillor Geoff Cooper, who saw first-hand the impact of a Test Valley Borough Council grant that funded new signs and children’s books.

Cllr Cooper said: "As ward councillors, we are delighted to support the North Baddesley Community Library.

"It is wonderful to see how the team’s hard work has developed over the last couple of years."

He praised the library’s wider impact as a welcoming space for the community.

Cllr Cooper said: "The service they provide goes far beyond just access to books or the puzzle exchange. Today they have built a warm and welcoming community hub where residents can come together to relax & socialise in a safe and caring environment.

"I hope residents take full advantage of what the Community Library team has to offer."

The library is hosting a free half-term workshop for children up to the age of six on Tuesday, October 27 from 2pm to 4pm and Wednesday, October 28 from 10am to 12pm.

The sessions will be held at All Saints Church, with craft activities including wand-making, mini hedgehogs and spider webs.

All materials will be provided.

Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian, but library volunteers will be on hand to help.

The library is open Tuesdays from 2pm to 4pm, and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 12pm.
