A vintage car event with a global cause is hitting the road.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive will take place on Sunday, September 27, with classic car owners from more than 64 countries taking part to raise money and awareness for men’s health, including prostate cancer and mental health support, through charity partner Movember.

Darren Collins, host of the Winchester drive, said: "This will be the sixth year of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive and we are hoping to make it the best one yet.

"It’s a fun day out with everyone welcome, and we have a great mix of cars lined up from the 50s to 80s.

"This event exists to help men live longer and happier lives – it is no secret that we are not as good at dealing with our health as women."

He said the drive is as much about community as it is about fundraising.

Mr Collins said: "It is as much about raising funds, as it is about bringing people together to talk over a shared passion of classic cars, and encouraging them to check in with their mates."

The Winchester drive begins at The Hampshire Pantry on Badger Farm Road, taking participants through the South Downs National Park with a stop at Cowdray Estate.

The route finishes at Goodwood Motor Circuit, where drivers will join classic car owners from London, Sussex and Surrey for parade laps and fundraising activities.

The event encourages drivers to dress in dapper attire and is open to vehicles over 40 years old - registered in 1985 or earlier—or continuation models from that era.

There are still some places left on the Winchester Drive, interested parties can sign up or make a donation via the website here: gentlemansdrive.com/events/england/winchester.

Organisers describe the day as family-friendly and open to all, despite its focus on men’s health.

This year sees over 64 countries participating and organisers are hoping to raise in excess of £1m.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is part of a worldwide movement to support men’s health, using the shared love of classic cars to spark conversation and encourage action.
