A hole-in-one and a day of friendly competition helped raise £15,000 for a cardiac charity.

The funds were raised during Heartbeat’s annual charity golf day, held at South Winchester Golf Club and sponsored by Pangea Insurance.

The event brought together supporters, businesses, and golf enthusiasts for a day of fundraising on the green.

Mark Ind, CEO at Heartbeat, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have raised such an impressive amount through this year's golf day.

"Every pound raised will help us continue supporting cardiac patients and their families, as well as funding vital projects that improve heart care across our region.

"It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying a wonderful day of golf while supporting such an important cause.

"We are especially grateful to our headline sponsor, Pangea Insurance, whose generosity and commitment were instrumental in making the event such a success.

"Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to every player, sponsor and local business that helped make the day possible."

Twenty teams took part in the event, which combined friendly competition with a shared commitment to improving cardiac care.

The top prize, the Alan Ball Trophy, was awarded to Clarke Willmott, whose team finished with a winning score of 134 points.

Peter Cooper Motor Group took second place, with JMS Wealth Management finishing third.

One of the day's standout moments came when Gordon Johnston hit a hole-in-one, earning him the chance to progress in a competition to win a car, supported by Peter Cooper Motor Group.

Heartbeat said the event demonstrated the strong and ongoing support it receives from the business community, with organisations like Pangea Insurance helping to raise funds and awareness through sponsorship and long-term partnerships.

Looking ahead, the charity has already confirmed the date for its next golf day at South Winchester Golf Club.

The event will return on Wednesday, August 11, 2027.
