After more than two months of dry weather, rain is finally on the horizon for Winchester.
The city has endured a prolonged spell of sunshine and below-average rainfall, with Southern Water reporting that the last significant rain fell on June 11.
July was also one of the driest months on record, adding to concerns over water supplies across the region.
A hosepipe ban was introduced by Southern Water on Friday, July 10, to protect water supplies and the River Test and River Itchen after months of dry weather.

But the weather looks set to change this week, with the Met Office forecasting several days of showers for Winchester. The forecast is accurate at the time of writing, but is subject to change.
The first chance of rain is expected on Monday, August 17, with showers forecast between midday and 3pm.
While rainfall totals are not expected to be particularly high, it will mark a noticeable change from the hot and settled conditions residents have become accustomed to in recent weeks.
Further showers are possible on Tuesday, August 18, when forecasters predict a 30 per cent chance of rain during the morning.
The likelihood of wet weather increases as the week progresses.
From midday on Wednesday, August 19, there is a 50 per cent chance of rain, with unsettled conditions expected to continue into the evening.
The wettest day is currently forecast to be Thursday, August 20.
Light rain is predicted from the early hours of the morning, with showers expected throughout much of the day.
