A village pub is undergoing a major refurbishment under new management.

The Brickmakers in Swanmore began its transformation after new landlords Liam, Brooke and Cathy took over in July.

The three friends and business partners have more than 60 years’ combined experience in pubs, bars, restaurants and kitchens.

The new landlords said: "We’re excited to introduce ourselves as the new team behind The Brickmakers in Swanmore.

"We’re busy behind the scenes giving the pub a refresh and can’t wait to open the doors, meet the local community and create a place for everyone to enjoy.

Refurbishments are underway at The Brickmakers.

"Thank you for all the support so far — we’re looking forward to welcoming you soon."

The pub, formerly run by Koren and Gareth Blake for fifteen years, will see changes to the internal and external paintwork, kitchen and garden.

The Brickmakers team is also hiring a head chef, line chef and part-time duty manager.

The pub plans to reopen on Tuesday, September 1.

The previous landlords said goodbye in June as hundreds attended the pub’s annual Brickfest. “Drink the Bar Dry” nights followed, and the pub’s furniture was sold in its final days.

The pub officially closed on Sunday, June 28.

During their 15-year tenure, Koren and Gareth Blake ran The Brickmakers as a family-run free house, known for its food, courtyard garden and community events.
