Hundreds of people took part in a fundraising walk to help raise money for hospice care.

The 20th annual Naomi and Jack's Clarendon Way Walk took place on June 6, offering routes of 26, 12, and five miles between Winchester Cathedral and Salisbury Cathedral.

The event has now raised more than £2m over its two-decade history and supports Naomi and Jack’s, a charity based in Sutton Scotney that provides specialist hospice care for babies, children, and young adults in central southern England.

Charlotte Patrick, events team leader at Naomi and Jack’s, said: "What a very special day we had.

"We are absolutely thrilled that on our 20th year of The Clarendon Way Walk, we had so many walkers and saw lots of familiar faces.

"Some of them have walked for us for over ten years.

"We’ve already raised over £70,000, with more coming in every day.

"A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part – from our brilliant walkers and corporate supporters who manned pitstops to our many marshals who stood for hours to guide people along the route.

"Your support will help us to continue providing vital care to families across central south England whose children have incredibly complex medical needs."

She said that the long-running fundraiser was only possible through the dedication of participants and volunteers, who make it possible for the charity to continue delivering round-the-clock palliative care.

Naomi and Jack’s operates two specialist hospice centres in Sutton Scotney and offers care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Naomi House supports babies and children with life-limiting conditions, while Jack’s Place is the only hospice for young adults in the South of England, offering tailored care, activities, and support to promote independence.

Cllr Jamie Scott, mayor of Winchester, said: "It was inspirational to see so many walkers show up with huge smiles on their faces to start the walk at Winchester Cathedral.

"Seeing lots of supporters cheering them really underlines how Naomi and Jack’s touches so many."

Naomi and Jack’s also provides community care, specialist short breaks, and bereavement support to families across the region.

Registration for next year’s event, the Clarendon Way Walk 2027, is already open.
