Join Naomi House & Jacksplace for a very special fundraiser and mark 20 years of its Clarendon Way Walk!
The annual event, on 7 June, takes in stunning countryside on a choice of 12 or 26-mile routes between Winchester and Salisbury. For a more leisurely stroll, or for little legs, there is also a five-mile walk.
Along the way, walkers benefit from lots of encouragement and plenty of pitstops. There’s also live music and entertainment at the end of the walk, which finishes at Salisbury Cathedral.
The Clarendon Way Walk started off as small fundraiser organised by a group of friends in 2006. They had missed out on places for MoonWalk London and decided to create their own meaningful challenge closer to home.
The first Clarendon Way Walk was organised by one dedicated volunteer with a big heart and a belief that a fundraising walking event could be organised in Hampshire.
A year later, the walk was organised again, with 300 walkers taking part, a number that doubled to 600 the following year. Since then, over 12,900 people have taken part, raising over £2,292,000 for Naomi House & Jacksplace’s life limited and life threatened children and young people.
In the early days, The Clarendon Way was a quiet, lesser-known route. Each year, volunteers would head out with secateurs in hand, carefully clearing overgrown paths to ensure walkers could enjoy the journey safely. Today, thanks to excellent signage maintained by the council, the route can be enjoyed by walkers all year-round.

Some supporters, such as Ordnance Survey and the Army Training Regiment, have been supporting Naomi House & Jacksplace since 2008. The event wouldn’t be the same without the corporate supporters, volunteers, and the Army Training Regiment, who all help to create a wonderful atmosphere. Their friendly guidance, encouragement, and reassurance along the route make a huge difference to everyone taking part.

“The Clarendon Way Walk is an event that everyone looks forward to,” says Naomi House & Jacksplace Events Team Leader Charlotte Patrick. “Many of the people that walk for us have been doing that for years. The atmosphere is fantastic. No-one gets left behind and there’s always lots of laughter and joy along the way.”
