Dozens of volunteers joined together for a week of refurbishing counselling offices for young people in Winchester.
Winchester Youth Counselling, on St George's Street, recently recruited volunteers from all over the city to help with the refurbishment of their office space.
The expansion of their facilities, which came after introducing a new service in February called Oak Tree Counselling, includes new rooms and spaces for clients to relax in a stress-free environment.
Work being done in the building saw the liberal use of blue and white paint to rejuvenate the therapy rooms, corridors, stairwells, reception area and new relaxation space.
Painting began on Tuesday, April 7 and the team worked tirelessly to complete it in five days. Volunteers from Rathbones, Hampshire Chronicle and other organisations came to help complete the work.
CEO of Winchester Youth Counselling, Dr Hannah Reidy, said: "It's been really nice to have had so many people come to help, we wouldn't be this far along if it wasn't for other people. A charity becomes a charity when it's community led and this is a proper old school community."

Investment Director at Rathbones, David Kness, said: “Across Rathbones, we believe in supporting the communities in which we live and work. This year, the Winchester office is proud to support Winchester Youth Counselling as our chosen Charity of the Year, reflecting our commitment to helping young people access vital mental health support.
“Members of our Winchester team recently volunteered to repaint the charity’s building, helping to refresh their space and create a welcoming environment for young people and their families. We are proud to support the important work Winchester Youth Counselling does across the local community and look forward to continuing our involvement with the charity throughout the year.”
Winchester Youth Counselling was founded in 2002 and specialises in free, confidential mental health counselling and therapeutic support for young people aged 11–25 in the Winchester district.
Oak Tree Counselling is the organisation's newest initiative, which is a privately funded service aiming to help 11-25 year olds and help with waiting times as pressures increase. Proceeds from the private sessions will go straight back in to WYC.
