A golf club has pledged its support to a youth mental health charity with a year of fundraising efforts.

Alresford Golf Club has named Winchester Youth Counselling as its charity of the year, committing to raise funds and awareness through events and activities over the next 12 months.

"Their work is vital to the wellbeing of young people in our community, and we are proud to play a part in helping them continue their essential services.

"Our members are enthusiastic about the year ahead and the opportunity to raise both awareness and funds for such an important cause."

Winchester Youth Counselling provides free, professional mental health and wellbeing support to young people aged 11 to 25 across the Winchester district.

As demand for youth mental health services rises, the charity offers confidential counselling, early intervention and outreach programmes aimed at building emotional resilience and empowering young people.

The golf club will organise charity competitions, social events and community initiatives throughout the year, with all proceeds going to the counselling service.

Dr Hannah Reidy, CEO of Winchester Youth Counselling, said: "We are extremely grateful to be chosen as Alresford Golf Club’s Charity of the Year. Partnerships like this make a real difference, helping us meet the increasing demand for mental health support and ensuring young people across our area have access to the help they need."

The club is encouraging members, visitors and the wider community to get involved in fundraising efforts.
