Christmas is a time for communities to come together and give thanks.
It’s also an extremely busy time for not only our police force but our emergency services as a whole.
While we gather to eat, drink and open presents with our loved ones, they are working hard to keep us safe.
Life for an emergency worker over the festive season can be varied but fulfilling.
They do an incredibly difficult job in ever challenging circumstances, and I am immensely proud of the work and the service provided by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
I want to thank all of them for their dedication, commitment and the personal sacrifices they make every day to help others.
Their vital work will help the Chief Constable and I achieve our ultimate goal of making Hampshire and the Isle of Wight one of the safest places to live, work and visit.
I want to thank all of our emergency services for their dedication, including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, His Majesty’s Coastguard, and our hospital staff.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
