The public will have the chance to put questions directly to police leaders during a live online event.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight police and crime commissioner Donna Jones will be joined by Chief Constable Alexis Boon for the latest Commissioner’s Oversight of Policing Services (COPS) session, taking place on Thursday, October 2.

Key areas to be covered in the hour-long online session include police visibility and engagement, business and retail crime, road safety, serious violence and anti-social behaviour.

These are all priorities outlined in the commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan.

Ms Jones said: "COPS is your chance to ask your policing questions of myself and the chief constable.

"Anyone can join this live online event and ask us a question.

"If you cannot make it onto the live event, or if you don’t have a Facebook account, you can pre-submit your question and watch the event afterwards on my website."

Mr Boon, who began his role with the force in August, will answer public questions directly for the first time during the event.

Questions can be submitted in advance or asked live during the session, which will be streamed across the PCC’s Facebook page, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner page, and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.

To submit questions, go to hampshire-pcc.gov.uk/transparency/scrutiny/cops-meetings.
