The scores are in — the latest batch of food hygiene ratings for Romsey and Test Valley restaurants, cafes, takeaways and businesses have been revealed.

Environmental health officers from Test Valley Borough Council have been busy this fortnight visiting businesses to see if they are meeting hygiene requirements.

Based on guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency, inspectors look to see how clean the facilities are; what food safety management procedures are in place and how hygienic food handling is.

Ratings are then dished out from five to zero — with the higher score the better the result.

The following premises have been rated five — 'Very Good':

  • Broughton Sports Club at Sports Pavillion, Buckholt Road, rated 5 on Wednesday, August 13
  • Brunos Coffee Shop at Unit 1, Towergate Industrial Park, rated 5 on Monday, August 11
  • Charlies Cafe at Ganger Farm Sports Pavilion, Ganger Farm Way, rated 5 on Tuesday, August 12
