A dragon boat race is being held for the first time in more than 10 years.

Naomi House & Jacksplace, hospices for children and young adults, are inviting families to the Dragon Boat Race, on Saturday, July 26, for a day of excitement.

The event will take place at Palmer Fields, Winchester.

The main attraction is the high-energy dragon boat races, but the event will also offer other activities, including bouncy castles, ice cream stalls, refreshment stalls and gift vendors.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to try rowing in a dragon boat themselves.

The event is free to attend, with all proceeds going to support Naomi House & Jacksplace.

The races will start at 10.30am and will run until 4.30pm.

Event team leader Charlotte Patrick said: "We’re really excited to bring dragon boat racing to Winchester.

"It hasn’t been seen in the area for over 10 years.

"It’s a fantastic opportunity to see local businesses, community groups, and families come together for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.

"Every paddle stroke helps us provide vital care for the children, young adults, and families who use our hospices."
