A marathon relay, determined runners, and a community effort have raised more than £2,000 for charity.

Staff from The Henry Beaufort School took part in the Romsey Relay Marathon on Saturday, May 18, raising £2,266.26 for Naomi House & Jacksplace, hospices that support children and young adults.

Two teams of 10 staff members each ran 4.2km to complete a marathon distance.

Peter Abrahams, head of supporter services and insight at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said: "We’re incredibly grateful to the staff at The Henry Beaufort School for tackling the Romsey Relay Marathon to raise vital funds for the hospices. It was a brilliant challenge, and we’re delighted that everyone enjoyed themselves.

The fundraising effort was part of a wider school initiative, with the charity selected by students and a house competition organised to boost engagement.

The school community rallied behind the challenge, helping the teams surpass their fundraising target.

The funds will support seriously ill children, young adults, and their families who rely on the services provided by Naomi House & Jacksplace.

A spokesman for The Henry Beaufort School said: "Every step they ran will go towards making a difference, and every donation will go towards supporting seriously ill children, young adults and their families who visit Naomi House & Jacksplace."

The school recently presented the cheque to Mr Abrahams in recognition of the team’s efforts.
