The scores are in — the latest batch of food hygiene ratings for Test Valley restaurants, cafes, takeaways and businesses have been revealed.

Environmental health officers from Test Valley Borough Council have been busy this fortnight visiting businesses across the borough to see if they are meeting hygiene requirements.

Based on guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency, inspectors look to see how clean the facilities are; what food safety management procedures are in place and how hygienic food handling is.

Ratings are then dished out from five to zero — with the higher score the better the result.

The following premises have been rated five or 'very good':

Abbotswood Court Care Home, Abbotswood Court, Minchin Road, rated 5 on Thursday, April 3

Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel, Chilworth Manor, Manor Road, rated 5 on Tuesday, April 15

Mariams Kitchen, rated 5 on Thursday, April 3

Mercer Way Stores Ltd, 14 - 18 Mercer Way, Romsey, rated 5 on Wednesday, April 16

The Eagle Inn, Red Rice Road, Abbotts Ann, rated 5 on Friday, April 4

Totcity, 22 - 24 Chantry Way, Andover, rated 5 on Thursday, April 10

Businesses may have been reinspected since and this will be reflected in our next round-up.
