The scores are in — the latest batch of food hygiene ratings for Winchester restaurants, cafes, takeaways and businesses have been revealed.
Environmental health officers from Winchester City Council have been busy this fortnight visiting businesses across the district to see if they are meeting hygiene requirements.
Based on guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency, inspectors look to see how clean the facilities are; what food safety management procedures are in place and how hygienic food handling is.
Ratings are then dished out from five to zero — with the higher score the better the result.
These are the latest premises to be rated five or 'very good':
- Catering Services at Winchester School of Art at Park Avenue, Winchester, rated 5 on Friday, March 21
- Denmead at 121 Anmore Road, Denmead, rated 5 on Friday, March 21
- Field and Furnace, rated 5 on Friday, March 28
- Kokoro Winchester at 73 St George's Street, Winchester, rated 5 on Wednesday, March 26
- New Alresford Kebab at Alresford Community Centre, 7 West Street, rated 5 on Monday, March 24
