A leisure centre operator has launched a campaign to get more over-60s active.
Everyone Active, which runs Meadowside Leisure Centre, in Whiteley, and Winchester Sports and Leisure Park, at Bar End, is encouraging older people to get fit and healthy as part of its fourth annual Age is Just a Number campaign.
The campaign started on Saturday, October 5 and will run until Sunday, November 17, aiming to inspire over-60s to embrace physical and mental activity.
The initiative, which coincides with Silver Sunday, the national day for older people, celebrates the achievements of active older adults and highlights the benefits of staying fit in later life.

With more than 230 centres across the country, Everyone Active offers a wide range of activities, including specialised classes for seniors.
The company already sees 18,000 attendances at its regular senior activity sessions each month.
It hopes to increase this number during the campaign by motivating more older adults to engage in fitness activities, whether for weight loss, injury recovery, improved mobility, fitness, or social reasons.
Alison Lewis, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: "We are proud to offer our members a friendly and welcoming environment that motivates people of all ages to get active.
"Maintaining physical activity and keeping socially active is vitally important for older people in the local community. This campaign aims to inspire people to try a new activity or engage in simple exercises each week at home, helping people of all abilities discover the different ways they can enjoy exercise."

Winchester City Council’s cabinet member for community and engagement, Cllr Kathleen Becker, added: "Many members at our Everyone Active facilities challenge conceptions about age, and act as an inspiring reminder of what is possible.
"We know that physical activity has a number of health-related benefits, so it is fantastic to see that there are initiatives like this to encourage older adults to regularly exercise.
"I’d encourage anyone to sign up to find out more about local senior sessions and all of the opportunities available in both Whiteley’s Meadowside facility and Winchester Sport and Leisure Park."
By signing up, people can learn about local senior sessions, receive motivational videos from active older members, and have a chance to win a six-month adult membership.
Everyone Active hopes the campaign will prove that gyms, swimming pools, and other activities are suitable for people of all ages to enjoy.
