The club members said that they had a good, if damp day, and hoped for better weather on Sunday, September 9.
However, when players arrived for a 10am start the green was waterlogged. After much debate, it was decided to cancel the day's play.
The club finals always end with a barbeque, which went ahead despite the damp weather.
The club played some follow-up games on Wednesday, September 11 and Sunday, September 15, with the last bowl of this season to take place on Saturday, September 28.
Club president Gillian Wait said: “It has been a very enjoyable season, with fun on and off of the green and the club has raised over £2000 for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance so far this year.”
