A MAN has been arrested as part of an investigation into a burglary at a restaurant in Winchester city centre.
Police were called just before 10am on Sunday, July 7 to reports of a burglary at The Ivy, High Street, that had happened at around 11.30pm on July 6.
A man entered the restaurant and stole an iPad from behind the reception desk.
According to reception staff at The Ivy, the man walked into the restaurant with a black pug and walked out shortly afterwards with the iPad on his person.
A police spokesman said: “A 42-year-old man from Winchester was arrested on suspicion of burglary other than a dwelling. He remains in custody at this time.”
