My email system was recently hacked, and there was potential for significant fraud. I reported it as a crime, and received lots of online advice and contacts to try to ensure that it doesn't happen again. I was also pleasantly surprised, a couple of weeks later, to receive a follow-up phone call from Hampshire Police, checking that I was OK and that my email system was now working safely. I received an extensive email shortly after giving me further advice. Not only that, but a couple of hours later a police constable rang my doorbell to check that I had received the email, and handed over a very informative booklet about online safety.
