A WINCHESTER man has been given a community order after he was caught stealing from several shops.
Maxwell Lane-Wheeler, 26, of City Road, stole £30.66 worth of items from the University of Winchester Student Union shop on March 19, before targeting the shop again on March 20 when he took items worth £23.57.
He then stole items worth £11.50 from Marks & Spencer in High Street on March 23.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 20, Lane-Wheeler pleaded guilty to three charges of theft from a shop.
He must complete 45-days worth of community service and a nine-month-long treatment for alcoholism.
He must also pay £65.73 compensation.
