THE Wickham annual church fete will be held next month. 
It will be on Saturday, June 8 at St Nicholas Church from 12,30pm.
The event includes the family dog show with a number of categories including prettiest bitch, most handsome gent and best junior handler. 

A BEACON will be lit in Bishop's Waltham to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. 
It will be at Bishop's Waltham Palace on Thursday, June 6. 
Gather from 8.30pm, the beacon will be lit at 9.15pm. 

BISHOP'S Waltham Gardening Club's June meeting will be on the gardens of Russia.
It will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at Bishop's Waltham Junior School, with doors open at 6.45pm. 
The speaker will be John Baker and he will talk about Russia's ever-changing scenery and its flora.

A FREE exchange stall will be in the centre of Bishop's Waltham. 
It will be in St George's Square on May 25 from 10.30am - 2.30pm. 
There will be DIY equipment available including garden tools.

DURLEY Church Fete will be held this summer. 
It will be at Wintershill Hall, Sciviers Lane, on June 15, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. 
Traditional village fete, lunches, teas, music and stalls.
Entrance £2, under 16 free.

LOOKING ahead, the Bishop’s Waltham Rotary Summer Fayre is in the planning.
This year, the event will be held on June 8.
There will be live music, food, bars, children's rides, inflatables, ice creams, the ever popular dog show, motorcade with classic cars and bikes and the classic car show.

THE Meon Voices choir is seeking a new director to start in January next year. 
Choir chairman Phil Coundley said: “Solveig Harris has led us for eight years, and has been unforgettably generous with her time, energy, knowledge and experience; we cannot thank her enough. We know all those who have been to our performances over these years are also grateful to Solveig for helping the Meon Voices to bring the joy of music to the community. We all benefit so much from singing.”

PLANS are well underway for the Swanmore Village Fete.
It's organised by the Meon Valley Lions and will be held on Saturday, July 13 at the New Road Recreation Ground. 
There'll be live music from a number of bands including Soberton Strummers, Swanmore Wind Band and Swanmore College of Technology Jazz Band. 
There will also be classic cars and bikes on display, plus, over 40 stalls, coconut shy, beat-the-goalie, games and rides. 
Entry costs £2.
