A HAMPSHIRE villager has been banned from the road for a year after speeding in Bournemouth.
James Whittick, of Winchester Road, King's Somborne, was caught by a speed camera on the A338 Wessex Way on June 21 last year, a court heard.
Whittick, 29, was driving a Volkswagen Panel Van at 48mph in a 40mph zone.
He was found guilty under the single justice procedure at Dorset Magistrates' Court and was sentenced on Tuesday, May 14.
As well as getting a 12 month ban, he also got three penalty points.
Whittick must pay a fine of £133, victim surcharge of £53 and costs of £110 to be paid by June 11.
