A MAN has been jailed for chronic shoplifting in Winchester.
Stephen Wilson, 35, of Durngate, was sentenced to eight weeks for three counts of shoplifting and two counts of breaching a criminal behaviour order.
On April 19 he stole a box of hair straighteners worth £150 from Boots in High Street. He stole a number of items worth £246.50 from One Stop in Battery Hill, Stanmore, on May 5.
On May 13 he took a can of Red Bull from WH Smith in High Street.
Temporary police sergeant Ryan Keen, of the Winchester Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “A sentence like this shows that shoplifting will not be tolerated in Winchester and as the police we will keep pursuing those committing crime in the city.”
