1. Flamenco Express 

The Flamenco Express will visit The Arc in Winchester this weekend for their 30th anniversary. Flamenco Express are a music group, dedicated to the ‘Flamenco’ genre which is a style of Spanish music, usually played with guitar accompanied with singing and dancing. 

Taking place at The Arc, Jewry Street, Winchester on Friday, May 10 at 8pm

2. Saxon Winchester guided walking tour 

Enjoy a 90-minute walking tour which covers several locations around Winchester City Centre which had significant importance during Saxon times. The route will concentrate on the development of Winchester, specifically late Saxon, but also focusing on the influence that Vikings and Normans had of the city. The route is accessible to wheelchair users.

Taking place on Saturday, May 11 at 2.30pm, leaving from Visitor Information Centre, The Guildhall, Winchester.

3. Bandfest – The Railway 

Students from the Music Performance and Production courses are preparing for their second annual BANDFEST this weekend at The Railway, in Winchester. For one night only visitors get to hear the new generation of music making and can enjoy an evening of new and classic rock as well as popular songs. 

Taking place at  The Railway Inn, St Pauls Hill, Fulflood, on Sunday, May 12. Doors open at 5pm.

4. Breast Walk Ever 

The Breast Walk Ever will return to Hampshire this Sunday for a walk to raise money for breast cancer patients in the UK. Walkers have the choice of tackling a full or half marathon as well as a 10k, with the routes starting just outside Winchester and following the ancient Monarch’s Way. 

The walk leaves from IBM sports club Hursley at 8am on Sunday, May 12.

5. Mysteries and Mayhem

This weekend, Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium is hosting the ‘Mysteries and Mayhem’ event. The event will offer live science shows, as well as hands on exhibits and lots of other practical activities, this event is perfect for science fanatics as well as children. 

Taking place on Saturday, May 11 from 9.30am until 5pm. The event is free with a general admission ticket, which costs £15.50.
