A NEW GP surgery, currently under construction in Winchester city centre, is quickly starting to take shape.
The new St Clements' Surgery is being built on the former car park on the corner of Friarsgate and Upper Brook Street as a replacement for the practice in Tanner Street.
According to a new newsletter, the building working is about 40 per cent complete.
The newsletter said: “The main structure of the building is now complete, and part of the roof structure has been installed. This means the building will be watertight in the next few weeks.
“Following completion of the structural façade, you will notice that the external skin of brickwork is now 40 per cent complete - the building has really taken shape.

“The laying of screed (a smooth subfloor) has been completed on the ground floor and the internal fitout is due to commence within a fortnight.
“Once the building is watertight, you will also begin to see windows delivered and fitted.
“Your patience throughout these works is much appreciated.”
The new development will accommodate staff and patients, 15 consulting rooms, three treatment rooms, admin facilities, larger reception, waiting areas and staff parking.
