IT HAS been a busy few weeks for the Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club with two trophy evenings in quick succession.
“Leading Lines” and “Urban Landscape” were the themes for this year’s Les Frederick Trophies competitions.
Sixty images were entered, giving the judge, Jason Hyde, a busy evening.
The “Leading Lines” theme was for printed images and Terry Jamieson’s entry “Handrails” was chosen as the winner.
Terry also took second place with “Exit” and third place went to “Eilean Donan Bridge” by Pete Robertson. Seals of Merit were awarded for images by Roy Lambeth and Louise Sampson.
In the projected digital image category on the “Urban Landscape” theme, Hilary Henery was awarded the trophy for her image “Venetian Backwater”.
Second place went to Ali Johnston for “Concrete Spaces” and third place to Jackie Ridout for “Life in the Fast Lane”.

Jackie also received a Seal of Merit, as did Tim George, Lynne Lambeth, and Gerald Ponting.
A week later, judging for the Whitmore trophy took place. This was open to any photographic format but the requirement was that images had to be “creative”.
Rather than having an external judge, club members voted for their favourite entries and the winner was Louise Sampson with “Tulips”.
Close behind in second place was Lizzie Dutfield with “Little Feet” and third was “String Quartet” by Terry Jamieson.
Viewfinders meets most Tuesdays at the Jubilee Hall, New Road, Timsbury. New members are welcome regardless of experience.
