THE Romsey Antiques, Vintage and Decorative Arts Market is returning to the town centre.

The event, celebrating its ninth year in the town, will be on Sunday, May 12 from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Attracting more than 65 dealers and enthusiasts from all over the south, it offers an array of interesting and affordable items.

The market caters for all tastes including antiques, collectables, memorabilia, vintage jewellery accessories, clothing and furniture.

Also, tools, silver, wooden boxes, old clocks, vinyl records, textiles and upholstery, coins, French lamps and more. It’s the ultimate in upcycling with nothing going to landfill.

Market locations are positioned adjacent to Romsey Abbey and neighbouring the River Test. The five indoor and outdoor locations are walkable and accessible.

Council parking is free for the day, and cafes and restaurants will be open.

Suzi Shilling, business events and tourism officer at Romsey Town Council, said: “We are thrilled to have the antiques, vintage and decorative arts market returning, they bring some fantastic traders and visitors to the town all eager to find their treasure. During the event there will be small road closures in the centre of town to cater for the influx of visitors and their safety. We look forward to seeing you all at what will be the perfect Sunday day trip out.”

There will be volunteers and staff on site to point people in the right direction.

The event is supported by Romsey Town Council and Test Valley Borough Council.
