Charity Youth Options that provides alternative education for Hampshire's disadvantaged youth has lauded a University of Winchester study on their efforts.

Staff and beneficiaries were interviewed for the report led by Dr Rachel Harrison and Dr Craig Johnston.

Special focus went into the charity's key accessibility to nature via outdoor learning centres.

Last year, more than 3,500 youngsters benefitted from its varied services.

The study approved of Youth Options' ability to offer "vibrant, attractive experiences" to a diverse demographic, and their knack for exceeding participation goals.

Beneficiaries spoke fondly of the charity, sparking hope that this Good Practice Guide will inspire similar organisations nationally.

Funding for the study was provided by the NIHR CRN Wessex.
