A WINCHESTER grandmother is cycling 1,000km to raise money for vulnerable communities around the world.

Each year, for 30 years, retired health worker Jane Hough, 76, embarks on a sponsored cycling adventure in support of international development agency Christian Aid.

Previously, her travels have taken her through Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, and Norway. This time, she is off on a 1,000km challenge along the Danube Cycle Path on May 14.

Jane, from Weeke, has set a target of £1,000 and by Saturday, April 20 raised £290.

On her fundraising page, it said: "Everyone is equal in the sight of God. For over 75 years, this truth has inspired us to stand together in solidarity with our most marginalised global neighbours, of all faiths and none.

"My husband Jim worked in over 50 developing countries and inspired me to help in my own way."
