SIR - There's flapping over at Hedge End! SEERA, the EU's South East England Regional Authority', wants to build 6,000 new houses there to ease the "regional housing crisis" (Chronicle, South Hants edition, August 7).

But does Hedge End really care? Half its residents never vote, and half of those that do tacitly approve of this new-town by voting Conservative or Labour which have formed successive governments keen to implement EU law and support EU "membership" and all its ramifications including: 1) Dividing England into EU Regions'; 2) Unaccountable EU regional government' - SEEDA (South East England Development Agency) and SEERA; 3) Open EU borders and mass influx of cheap EU labour; 4) Over-crowded cities and displacement into towns and villages, and finally 5) SEERA's plan for 6,000 new houses on Hedge End's doorstep!

There's flapping over at Hedge End all right, but it's the chickens coming home to roost. Only UKIP voters had the courage to oppose this and only they have the right to complain.

Labour and Conservative voters should keep quiet.

They have brought Hedge End to the brink of disaster.
